SETTIMANO IS LOCATED ON THE OUTSKIRT OF THE VILLAGE OF MODIGLIANA. THE REMAINS OF THE FORTRESS OF THE COUNTS GUIDI (CALLED “LA ROCCACCIA”, WHICH DATES BACK TO THE 12TH-13TH CENTURY), TOWERS OVER THIS LITTLE TOWN AND IT’S THE VALLEY CROSSED BY THE RIVER TRAMAZZO. MODIGLIANA IS ONLY PART OF THE REGION EMILIA ROMAGNA SINCE 1923, AFTER CENTURY LONG AFFILIATION WITH FLORENCE. THE TOWN’S TWOFOLD NATURE (“TUSCANIAN” AND “ROMAGNOLA”) IS EVIDENT IN SEVERAL ASPECTS OF THE LOCAL CULTURE AND HABITS.
